How Often you Update and Upload new photos ?
New photos are updated and added on Daily bases, I add new photos everyday.

 

I'm using your photos, how to credit you ?

How to download the photos? i can't find the download link ?
Full size photo download link is located under the thumbnail image.

 

What is a Release Fee ?
I allow my photos to be used in commercial use (online or offline), and what i ask in return is a credit and a link back to my site (by Photos8.com), and this is the simple "thank you" for my work. But .. if you don't want to give credit or to mention my site as a resource for the photos that will be used in your commercial publication then you are required to pay a release fee of 5 $ per photo, more information you can find here in my Release Fee page.

 

Why, Who, How, What Camera you use ?
I use Canon EOS SLR camera, information about my Photography, Camera, Equipment and Gear. 

 

Do you Twitter? Flickr? etc. ?
Yes i twitter Photos8 at Twitter, and Flickr (Photos8.com's Photostream). and also at deviantART.

 

Can i use one of your photos for my commercial project ?
Yes you can. but the LAW is complicated and have many sides, you should be careful about what to use. If the picture is free, but contains trademarks, art work, painting, other copyrighted items, or people, then others may have rights that might be actionable. But probably not, and such things should be obvious, read my licence page for commercial use conditions.

 

I am getting confused with DPI and what printshops asking from me ?
I keep getting emails from poor folk who say that their print shop or graphics designer keep asking for photos with specific size and dpi, to understand what is is dpi please read this, DPI and Photos.

 

Can i sell your photos on Stock photos sites?
I want people to make and earn money by using my photos, this site is exist so people can truly find free photos they can use for commercial or personal, My Photos are FREE, and i want to keep them free so others can use them, i have no problems if you make money with my pictures with your projects, designs, work, etc. but selling the same picture that i offer here for free at other stock photos sites is not ok, so the answer is No you can't sell my photos. and such things should be obvious.

 

I have a Wallpapers Site, App, Publication, and i want to use your photos ?
No you can't without my permission, i consider wallpapers sites competitors to me. you can't use my photos and wallpapers  in a website or any application (Site, Apps, and Etc.) that competing with my own site and my content, i allow the usage of limited number of photos or wallpapers with some conditions and terms, for more information please contact me with your site name and detials.

 

Can i upload your photos to Wikipedia ?
No you can't without my permission, if any photo is required to be on Wikipeida, please feel free to contact me.

 

Can i remove your Photos8.com watermark ?
Yes you can, but you have to give a credit back to my site, so the source of  the photo can be known.

 

Can you give me Legal Advice for my commercial project ??
I'm not a lawyer. i only take pictures, and i put them in my site and they are free to use, again .. If the picture is free, but contains trademarks, art work, paintings, other copyrighted items, or people, then others may have rights that might be actionable. But probably not, and such things should be obvious. And if you are using these pictures commercially you really should have some legal savvy beyond anything I might be able to add. Don't ask me for legal advice. I won't give it. you should assume no model release was obtained. And pictures featuring products or property should be used with care. Some of the images here feature members of the public.

 

Just one more question about using a pictures of art work or paint ?
Copyright laws are not easy about paintings or artwork, I am a photographer, i take photos, so I took a picture of the Paint or the Artwork, and the picture only is free to use, but the artwork or paint itself might be copyrighted. so sources, places or names of the painters or artists is something that i don't have and i can't give. my advice is to be careful when using paintings and artworks images in commercial use.

 

What about using People Pictures ?
I respect the intellectual property of others, and so should you. Please don't misuse images of others that you find here. Clearly I can't grant you the right to use images of people without their permission. Fair use is good, but so is privacy and accountability. No model release was obtained, for photos that has identifiable people on it, I cannot guarantee that you will be able to use the Image for any purpose you like. I do not represent or make warranties whatsoever as to the legality or validity of it. Furthermore, certain Images may be subject to additional copyrights, people, property rights, trademarks, logos etc. and may require the consent of a third party or the license of these rights. Photos8.com does not represent or make any warranties that it owns or licenses any of the mentioned, nor does it grant them. It's your sole responsibility to make sure that You have all the necessary rights, consents and licenses for the use of the Image.

 

What about Money and banknotes pictures, is the images violates U.S. Federal law because it can be reproduced and possible used for illict purposes because of it's high quality ?
No it doesn't because these images don't have the watermark, which all sensible businesspeople would check for, to make it look like an official bill. also putting a label such as "sample" or "specimen" isn't a requirement. Important 3/4 & 1-1/2 U.S. Secret Service money illustration rules : As listed by the United States Secret Service at money illustrations, the Counterfeit Detection Act of 1992, Public Law 102-550, in Section 411 of Title 31 of the Code of Federal Regulations (31 CFR 411), permits color illustrations of U.S. currency provided: The illustration is of a size less than three-fourths or more than one and one-half, in linear dimension, of each part of the item illustrated; The illustration is one-sided; and All negatives, plates, positives, digitized storage medium, graphic files, magnetic medium, optical storage devices, and any other thing used in the making of the illustration that contain an image of the illustration or any part thereof are destroyed and/or deleted or erased after their final use.

 

What about Graffiti pictures, are they copyrighted by the artist ?
Graffiti is not protected by law, graffiti is public domain art, and there is no copyrights about it, If graffiti artist don't want their graffiti work photographed, they shouldn't do it outside on building and public properties walls, and if a Photographer taking pics of architecture, ruins, wall owns the copyright to that image and all derivatives of that image. An artist that knowingly defaces public property has placed a piece of art in the public domain and therefore, just as an individual has the right to capture images in the public domain, then an individual has the right to capture defaced property as if it were that same public domain. No caveat exists for the protection or copyright of murals or graffitti since as you noted, The photographer, therefore, whom captures the image maintains a basic copyright and all further copyright of altered images.

 

There is a violates of copyrights, what to do ?
If you are shown in a photo, or feel a photo violates your copyrights, and object to it being available on the Internet, please contact me and the image will be removed.

 

Are you Crazy,  you helping to put some of us professional photographers out of business ? when magazines and people can get pictures free from you, then why would they even think of giving us professional photographers a measly $ dollars !!
I am getting few angry emails from photographers and stock websites because i am giving my photos for free, my answer is simple: the market is big and i am not putting anybody out of business, i am just one small person in a big world, and what  i am doing is helping people who can or can't afford paying for photos, my site will stay free no matter what .. why ? you can read my About Page .

 

Is the photos here are Public Domain ?
No the photos here are not in the public domain, my public domain collection are in my old site : RepublicDomain.com, All photos there are Public Domain. 

 

Can I have your permission to use one of the pictures here?
You don't need to ask me permission. yes you can use for anything such as : Advertisements in newspapers, magazine, or other printed material, Web and digital advertisements, Printed promotional projects including product packaging, catalogues, brochures, promotional greeting cards, promotional postcards and promotional posters, Corporate film and video presentations, Commercial film, motion pictures, movies or theatrical presentations, Books and book covers, CD & DVD covers, Editorial purposes: printed magazines, newspapers, editorials, newsletters, Online or electronic publications or uses, including web pages and templates, Prints, posters, stationery items and other reproductions for personal or business use, calendars, mugs, mousepads, t-shirts, games, etc. Web Templates for resale on websites, brochures, business cards, e-greeting cards, etc. you can use my photos in any logo or trademark. any questions feel free to Contact me.

 

Do you have a CD, DVD with all the photos?
No, perhaps someday. 

 

Are all the photos on Photos8.com yours, and did you took all of the pictures here?
Yes, this is my site, and 95% of the pictures here taken by me, rest 5% is by other photographers and friends.
